A maternity shoot in Fredericksburg, Virginia /April 18, 2017 by Thuy Minh Hussey

I have actually known this BEAUTIFUL mom-to-be for over 10 years! Ann used to be my boss at the photo studio where we worked at. She had desired a child for so long, so it was very exciting to learn that she was expecting!

Congrats Ann! I can't wait to meet Eva!

I am a French expat living in the USA, more precisely
in beautiful Virginia.
I took 8 years of Spanish but can't speak it. I love pretty stationery, real books and purple is my favorite color. I love photography because I love telling stories.

This floral hoop by @goodearthflowers paired with the perfect shade of dusty blue skirt from @shoprevelry got me swooning 😍
I find it so special when a couple write their own vows (and you get to use beautiful booklets like these from @ivoryandsageco !) but I understand it’s not for everybody. What are your thoughts on writing your vows? Did you do it, or would you like to do it?
I’m always a little sad once the holidays are over, but on the other hand, I’m also relieved to get back to my routine... I’m a creature of habit! To start off the year, here’s another photo of my last styled shoot.

I really, really miss this little girl! I knew I would love my niece, I just didn’t realize how much. I call her “ma petite puce” and “princesse Sophie”. My brother and I speak to her in French, our mom does it in Vietnamese, and my sister-in-law in Spanish. Being trilingual will be such an advantage for her! And for Christmas, I’m buying her books about science and strong women, like Justice Sonia Sotomayor. None of that “my prince will save me” stuff!
As I’m sitting here, looking out the window at a rainy and gloomy day in Virginia, i can’t help but wish I was back in #providenciales ! I’m dreaming of ☀️, white sand and teal water!
Happy Thanksgiving eve! Is there such a thing? I only started to celebrate this holiday when I moved to the US. I like it because of all the delicious food and I get to spend time with my family. And do some online shopping. I’ve worked retail for many years, so I stay away from Black Friday 😊 how about you, any fun plans?
Kylian is a smart, caring, helpful and ingenious young man. He has opportunities here in the US that he wouldn’t have got in France. Kylian is planning on majoring in electrical engineering (he’s definitely smarter than me!).
For the last couple years, every November, I want to do one of those “30 days of gratitude”. I do well for the first days, then I start missing some... and finally I’d miss entire weeks 🙃. So this November, I’m making the resolution NOT to write out the 30 things that I’m thankful for. Who’s with me? 😉
